OUTDOOR PLAY AREA
The outdoor play area is fenced and kept clear of hazards that may injure your child. Children are also supervised during outside play. We will play outside in all types of weather, however extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet may prevent outdoor play. Weather is only a factor for determining the duration of play. Please dress your child appropriately for each days weather.

BIRTHDAY/HOLIDAY PARTIES
If you would like to bring cupcakes so your child may celebrate his/her birthday with his/her friends in child care you may do so, with prior consent from the provider. Cupcakes must be store bought. We also celebrate certain holidays such as Halloween and Valentine’s Day. Provider may request that parents provide treats for these parties.

TELEVISION & VIDEO
Videos & educational television (PBS, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel) will be shown to enhance the children’s education or for enjoyment. Videos & television will not be part of the everyday curriculum of my program.

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT
Approximately once per month, Pam’s Play Place and Preschool will offer a Parents’ Night Out. This will be a night designated by the owner and will be offered to parents at least two weeks in advance. It will be care provided from 6PM – 10PM, for a flat fee. If you wish to take advantage of this evening you will be required to pay for that evening in addition to your regular child care tuition on your regularly scheduled payment date – at least 1 week prior to the “Parents’ Night Out”. If your child does not attend on “Parents’ Night Out” no monies will be reimbursed and no credit will be given.

This evening will offer a fun dinner for your child, activities, a snack and end with a G-Rated movie.

FIELD TRIPS
Occasionally we will go on field trips. Parent is responsible for their child’s fees, when necessary. It is not necessary for your child to attend these field trips but you will be required to find alternate care for your child if he/she does not attend. Regular childcare fees will still apply for field trip days, whether or not your child attends. You may also be asked to leave your child’s car seat for me to use for your child during field trip. Parents may also be asked to join us on field trips.

AGE-SPECIFIC PROGRAMS
My programs are based on each child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical developmental needs. I believe children are happy and secure when they have plenty opportunities to succeed each day. Success breeds self-confidence and self-confident children approach learning as fun and actively search for information and solutions to problems. As a result, they develop into well-rounded, capable adults.

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Pam’s Play Place and Preschool will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable federal, state and local laws in providing for children with disabilities. My goal is to meet the individual needs of the child within the structure of my program, while maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all children.

TRANSPORTATION
Colorado Law requires:

  • younger than 1 yr. and less than 20 lbs. in a rear-facing infant seat

  • 1 through 3 yrs. and 20-40 lbs. in a forward-facing child safety seat

  • 4 through 5 yrs. and less than 55" in a booster seat

  • 6 through 15 yrs. and 55" or more in an adult safety belt

All children being transported by the provider, to or from the child care home and on all field trips will be provided with a car seat or appropriate safety restraint. If a child care seat is not available, Provider will provide one upon request. Parents are required to return the car seat the following child care morning. A $10.00 per day fee will be charged, if the car seat is not returned to the provider the following morning. Please keep in mind that I am required by law to report any parent who neglects to respect the Colorado Car Seat Law and the safety of their child.

REST TIME
All children 5 years and under will be required to lie down for a rest time each day. This will be a two-hour rest period, between 12:30pm-3:30pm (depending on our morning activities). I will provide a suitable crib, play pen, cot or mat, a blanket or sheet and pillow (for children over 12 months). If you wish to provide a favorite blanket or sleep toy from home, it is fine. Please be sure to wash these weekly. I will not force your child to sleep but they must lie down quietly. If your child does not go to sleep, they may be given a book, puzzle or something else they can play with quietly.

MEALS AND SNACKS
I am a participant in “A Child’s Choice Food Program”. Nutritious meals will be served to all children present at meal times. Meal times are as follows:

· Breakfast will be offered to all children arriving early or between 8:00am and 8:30 am

· Lunch will be offered to all children who are in attendance during the lunch period.

· Dinner will be offered to any child in attendance at 7:00 pm

· Snacks will be offered to all children in attendance. A snack and drink will be offered before your child’s pick up time. Provider will not serve or pack drinks when parents arrive for their children. If a child can not make it home without another snack or drink, parent(s) will need to have one packed for the child in their vehicle.

If your child will be arriving after mealtime, you will need to feed them at home.
