Mission & Philosophy
My goal is to provide your child(ren) with a clean, safe, comfortable environment where they can play and learn with guidance, loving care, and concern while you work. We will be integrating curriculum, arts and crafts, and a variety of skill development activities during our days, but my first priority is for your child to HAVE FUN!

Ages Served
Pam’s Play Place serves newborn up to age 12, depending on enrollment.

Business Hours
Pam’s Play Place is a licensed Child Care Home, with normal business hours of 7:00am-5:30pm. Any non-contracted hours will be at the discretion of the Child Care Provider and will be by special arrangement only. There will be an additional charge for this service. Please refer to the attached rate sheet for specific rates for hours outside regular business hours or contracted hours.

Environment
We offer a safe, loving environment along with quality care, for your children. We are a family like yours. Your child's safety, comfort, and environment are important to us. With this in mind we want you to know we use only non-toxic cleaning products and disinfectants in our Child Care Home--which we special order for your family and ours. I am very happy to report that this has significantly cut down the number of illnesses in my child care families and ours since using these products. This provides the added benefit of safety to the loving, comfortable, and clean surroundings which keep your child.

State Licensing
I believe that the licensing and rigid enforcement of standards are in the best interest of all children. I comply with applicable licensing regulations and standards. These standards relate to my facility, staff, health and safety procedures, nutrition, ratios and recordkeeping. I am also subject to inspection by the state licensing officials.

Discipline
I believe discipline should be used to teach a child. The children are explained the rules of the child care home frequently so that all know the guidelines. Once a child understands the rules and obeys them, the following techniques are used. These techniques are: Redirection, Time Out, Removal of privileges, and Last resort-when a child’s behavior is constantly upsetting or dangerous to me or others, a conference will be called with the parents. If problems cannot be resolved, arrangements will have to be made for the child to go elsewhere for care.

Positive Guidance Techniques

  1. Ignoring: Some negative behavior is produced by a child to get attention. It can be stopped when it does not get the attention desired. I will use this technique unless a safety issue is involved.

  2. Redirection: I offer alternatives to children engaged in undesirable behavior by presenting a different toy or activity.

  3. Verbal Intervention: I explain to the child the inappropriate behavior and show him/her the appropriate way to handle the situation with words.

  4. Logical Consequences: I help the child understand the logical consequence of his/her actions by removing the object or activity in which the child is engaged.

  5. Take a Break: The child is separated from the group to allow him/her to relax and calm down, and to help him/her not to be influenced by peers. The child will have access to activities and will be supervised while in Take a Break. The child may return to the group as soon as the negative behavior stops or is significantly reduced. If Take a Break occurs two or more times in one day the child’s parent will be notified.
